Tees Valley Unlimited has announced it is to hold a ‘Budget Live’ session as part of its Business Summit next week.
TVU, the Local Enterprise Partnership for Tees Valley, also has revealed that Philippa Snare, UK Marketing Director from Microsoft, will be opening the Summit with the morning’s keynote address next Wednesday (July 8).
Chancellor George Osborne’s Budget will be broadcast live at the Summit and will be followed by a debate by an expert panel.
The Summit is being held at the Olympia Building at Teesside University in Middlesbrough from 8am to 4pm with ‘Budget Live’ starting at 12.15pm.
TVU boss Stephen Catchpole said: “The eyes of the business community will be firmly fixed on this Budget with it being the first since the Conservatives secured an election majority following five years of coalition government.
“With the Budget being held as the same day as our Tees Valley Business Summit, it made sense to incorporate Budget Live as one of the keynote sessions.”
As well as one of its leading executives opening the Summit, Microsoft will be showcasing its ‘Technology Experience Bar’, where delegates can try out the company’s and its partners’ latest cutting edge devices and learn about cloud and productivity platforms for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Summit, a well-established networking and B2B opportunity, is back for its fourth year.
Alongside a fully booked business exhibition, delegates will have the opportunity to attend a number of presentations and take part in a programme of workshops covering themes such as supply chain opportunities, existing funding streams and supporting your workforce. There also will be networking opportunities.
