A new director with a wealth of experience has joined the team at the helm of the Thirteen Group.
Russell Thompson has joined the leadership team at Thirteen as Group Director of Property Services.
The 52-year-old was welcomed into the Tees Valley-based group, which covers an area from North Tyneside to York, from his previous role as a consultant leading on a variety of projects across the country.
In his new post, Russell has overall responsibility for Thirteen’s in-house repairs and maintenance function, as well as the programmes of major refurbishment and investment covering properties owned by the landlord partners in the group; Erimus Housing, Housing Hartlepool, Tees Valley Housing and Tristar Homes.
He said: “I saw synergy at Thirteen. I felt I could really bring some value and the size and social purpose values of Thirteen really struck a chord.
“I love the people in the North East and there is a real opportunity to serve local people and make a difference.”
Russell has worked on a range of major projects with a variety of companies throughout his career, from property services to large organisational change.
Outside work, the father of three enjoys playing golf, watching football and also coaching an under-12s football team, after recently completing his level one coaching badge.
Thirteen chief executive Alison Thain added: “We are thrilled to welcome Russell, who is a great addition to the leadership team at Thirteen.
“As we are building firm foundations as Thirteen, his vast range of experience will help us ensure we continue to not only deliver, but enhance our services even further while raising ambitions and aspirations and giving people the opportunity to make a difference to their own lives.”
