Wilton Centre’s reputation as a world-leading business and science park makes it the location of choice for many businesses.
Over 60 companies, ranging from multinationals through to SMEs and start-ups, are located at the Centre and levels of interest in the range of high quality office and technical space available continue to be high.
Lettings figures for 2014 at the 75 acre site, located between Middlesbrough and Redcar, were double those of 2013 and total occupancy is now running at 70%.
The surge to take up space is set against a background of significant investment in creating excellent facilities for tenants based at the Centre.
In the past eighteen months alone the Wilton Centre has revamped and refurbished its Lakeside restaurant and coffee shop, launched a state-of-the art gym with its own beauty salon for tenant employees and created a suite of high quality conference and meeting rooms.
Site Director Steve Duffield said that the improvements have added significantly to the attraction of the Centre as a location for business office space as well as its reputation as a world-class business environment.
“Location is crucial to businesses, both in terms of accessibility as well as the surrounding business community.
“We are able to offer an ideally positioned setting close to all major transport networks together with a large network of businesses for tenants to build links with and potentially form long-term business partnerships.”
Since April 2015, tenants at the Centre have also benefitted from a revitalised support network after it became part of the national facilities and property management company, Fasset Ltd.
Formed in 2005, Fasset has a strong track record of managing successful business parks. This includes the majority of sites in the Business Environments for Science and Technology (BEST) network, the largest privately-owned portfolio of science and technology parks in the UK which includes the Wilton Centre.
It also manages Langstone Technology Park in Havant, another site in the BEST network, which has enjoyed occupancy levels of between 97% – 99% for the past 5 years, with customer satisfaction feedback hitting 96% in the 2014 site survey.
Michael Cripps, Fasset’s BEST Network Operations and Finance Controller, explained that this is an exciting opportunity to enable the Wilton Centre’s very strong core management team to enhance the park and services enjoyed by the tenants.
“Fasset has significant experience in delivering high quality services for tenants and fully understands the role of the landlord, service delivery provider and the tenant.
“Our overriding aim is to ensure that the Wilton Centre is a location that tenants are proud to bring customers to and that enables them to attract the best staff.”
Steve Duffield added that the ongoing success of the Centre, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2015, is a reflection of the ongoing commitment to providing the very best facilities and support.
“We pride ourselves on the professional and high quality support we offer tenants who also benefit from high specification, flexible office space.
“The competitive packages we are able to offer companies to be based in a professional and very well-connected environment underpins the success of the Centre and makes it a very attractive location to be based in.”
