Training company Amacus is celebrating after helping more than 100 people into work with local employers, through its training and recruitment programme.

Amacus has now helped fill 108 vacancies with ‘job ready’ candidates in less than two years for; The Keys in Darlington, J&B Recycling, NHS County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust and Blue Arrow, in positions such as bar staff, health care assistants and production line pickers.

With offices in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Bishop Auckland, Amacus provides a fully-funded training and recruitment programme for companies with vacancies to fill, to ensure potential recruits are ‘job ready’.

Now the company, which has another programme underway for the NHS, is calling for more local firms to get future employees ready for work.

Managing director Christine Hall said: “Employers spend a great deal of time recruiting staff to particular roles only to find they lack understanding of the job role and the tenacity to stay the course.

“This service helps reduce that risk by developing candidates who are fully informed and with a positive ready to go attitude. The retention levels have been outstanding.”

The Job Ready Recruitment Service recruits and filters potential candidates then trains them to the company’s standards, can include a period of work experience and gets them prepared for interview.

Amacus says the result is a pool of candidates who are ready and able to work in the position they are applying for.

The Keys Darlington operations manager Paul Rowntree said: “The combination of training and work experience has delivered exactly what we wanted.

“All of our recruits have hit the ground running, fully understanding how the Keys operates as a leading business in the hospitality sector in the Tees Valley. All candidates are showing great potential and I am confident a solid career in hospitality and catering is ahead of them.”

To showcase their services Amacus have recently produced a video, selected to be featured on the Telegraph Business Club website alongside companies such as E-on, VisitBritain and Diamond Cooper. Watch the video at www.train-develop-succeed.co.uk
