A major chemical-process sector conference will take place on Teesside to showcase future North East investment projects and the associated supply chain opportunities.
The annual Meet the Members Conference and Exhibition, ran by chemical-industry body NEPIC, will welcome hundreds of delegates to Wynyard Hall’s Grand Marquee on Wednesday 22 June.
As well as a day packed with networking, delegates will hear investment updates and inspirational business success stories first-hand from some of the sector’s biggest names – including Amec Foster Wheeler, Arcinova, AstraZeneca, Calysta, District Energy, Huntsman, IChemE, Nortech, SABIC, Trinity Mirror and WH Partnership.
The Conference, now in its 6th year, also offers unique mentoring sessions with major North East manufacturers and established businesses. Mentors will be on hand to assist attending member companies with advice on becoming suppliers to the sector and enhancing existing relationships with potential clients. Last year, a total of 176 one-2-one meetings took place.
NEPIC CEO, Dr Stan Higgins, said: “The North East Process sector works through NEPIC to secure the future of the whole sector.
“Demonstrating that we have a vibrant local supply chain that can underpin and support all the needs of chemistry-based businesses is vital to both existing industry and also future investors.
“This event not only provides companies with a unique opening to exploit the opportunities that lie within such major regional process sector developments, but also offers a place for like-minded companies to come together to network and collaborate.”
NEPIC’s PR & Communications Manager, and event organiser, Louise Gwynne-Jones said: “This event has developed year-on-year and we are very proud as an organisation that it is now a key date in the sector’s diary.
“The outputs it provides to our attending companies, along with the continual growth in terms of attendees, speak for themselves. This event also enables companies outside of the NEPIC membership to witness the Cluster at first hand and experience the benefits it has to offer to their businesses.
Anthony McKeown, Business Development Executive, CY Partners Recruitment, who exhibited at last year’s event, said: “The 2015 NEPIC Meet the Members was the best exhibition and networking event I’ve ever attended. The variety on the day with 100 exhibitors on show, along with what seemed like about 1,000 delegates, keynote speakers, as well as 1-2-1 mentoring sessions – which allowed a few minutes to pick the brains of senior figures in the region’s major companies – made it a busy but very worthwhile day.”
Rain for Rent where new to NEPIC at the point of attending Meet the Members in 2015, however Business Development Manager, Carl Holmes, said: “Meet the Members 2015 was our debut event with NEPIC. We were able to make new contacts, which have since turned into customers, and helped establish our brand within the NEPIC community”.
Event registration is open until Monday 20 June and NEPIC would like to welcome all North East companies that participate in, or are looking to supply to, the chemical processing sector to register and attend the event. Visit www.nepic.co.uk/mtm/ for further details.
NEPIC is the membership organisation working with the chemistry-using industries in the North East of England. Its ambition is to build upon the already powerful industrial base here and make this region one of the most competitive and successful chemical-processing locations in Europe.
