The innovative Boho Five building in Middlesbrough’s digital hub, Middlehaven, celebrated its first birthday by welcoming a number of new tenants through its doors – and renewing contracts with many of the existing tenants.
Sitting at the heart of one of the region’s key regeneration sites, the state-of-the-art £4 million Boho Five building has become a focal point for digital and creative businesses after being officially opened in August 2015.
Situated on the corner of Bridge Street East and Windward Way, the building can now boast an impressive increase in the number of creative and digital businesses taking up occupancy in the hub.
Designed by award-winning firm Xsite Architecture, the building’s striking black and orange exterior follows the colourful and modern Middlehaven theme.
At more than 24,000 sq ft, it offers office accommodation for up to 50 small and medium sized enterprises in the digital and creative sector. With this in mind, it features a variety of office sizes, ranging from 100-1,000 sq ft.
Tenants include architecture business Space Architects, who established its Teesside office in Boho Five to complement bases in Newcastle, Hull, Leeds, Manchester and London as bosses there see the North-East as a “gateway of massive opportunity”.
Others include web development agency Tad Web Solutions – who recently signed a two-year extension to their tenancy – digital marketing agency Vanilla Bean Creative, creative digital agency Eighty8 Design and online retail operator welovewristbands.com.
The building operates in close partnership with DigitalCity, meaning tenants benefit from their expert advice, mentoring programme and sector support.
Boho Five is situated close to Middlesbrough town centre and benefits from excellent road and rail links.
Middlesbrough Train Station is just a two-minute walk away, while a five-minute walk takes you into the town’s shopping district.
