Tees Business joined fellow Teessiders on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Riverside Stadium to see Middlesbrough Football Club’s refurbished hospitality and media suites – take a look at our exclusive pictures below.
Guests enjoyed a taste of the club’s renowned catering before enjoying guided tours of the facilities that many supporters never get to see, including renovated home dressing rooms, new-look boardroom and impressive media facilities.
The tour also took in the refurbished executive boxes as well as a range of hospitality suites that are not only hugely popular on Premier League matchdays but for meetings, conferences and private parties too.
The Riverside Stadium underwent a £6 million facelift during the summer as Middlesbrough FC prepared for the return of Premier League football.
The work included the creation of new media and broadcast facilities, renovation of the tunnel and dressing room area, a new-look reception and refurbished hospitality facilities.
Newly promoted clubs have to meet new criteria upon promotion to the Premier League, so new dug-outs have been installed along with a new players’ entrance and a new-look West Stand reception.
Two new TV studios have been installed on either side of the Riverside’s big screen, while the outside broadcast compound, used by matchday TV broadcasters, has been moved to a new location in the South East Corner of the stadium.
The TV gantry has also been moved from the West Stand to the East Stand, with the main camera positions now pointing towards the main stand.
