Erimus Insurance Brokers, the only Top 100 insurance broker with a Teesside HQ, has created new jobs as it heads for another record-breaking year by placing in excess of £15 million of premium into the UK insurance market during 2016.
The Stockton-based firm is a specialist business-to-business insurance broker whose customers range from sole traders to multi-million pound global companies including some of the region’s leading businesses.
Erimus has increased its workforce to 31 with the recruitment of Larissa Mathwin as senior broker and Emma Hughes as new business broker as the firm continues to win business from around the region and beyond.
Commercial director Paul Davison – pictured (above) with Larissa (right) and Emma – believes that the quality of the firm’s staff together with combining a local base with a national outlook gives them a clear edge over rival brokers.
He said: “The key to our success is happy staff providing great service and a competitive product, but our USP is that we’re a Teesside business.
“In a sector dominated by the national firms, being competitive and providing good service is a pre-requisite for doing business, but we’re finding that regional businesses are more aware than ever of the need to support each other.
“Being the only Top 100 insurance broker with a Teesside HQ means we benefit from being local.”
Erimus is also a big supporter of local charities and community groups whilst practicing what they preach by using local suppliers wherever possible.
“We spend money with our clients for social and corporate events as we see the value of keeping our money in the local economy,” added Davison. “As we’ve grown, we’ve also increased our support of local charities.”
Davison is delighted with his new recruits and believes the firm’s clients benefit from dealing with motivated staff, all of whom participate in a long-term incentive plan.
“We’re always looking for talented and ambitious staff who can help us keep Teesside on the map from an insurance perspective,” he said.
