Teesside’s biggest taxi firm is supporting the world championship ambitions of local young kick boxers.
Boro Taxis has reaffirmed its commitment to young fighters at M.A-X Training Academy in Middlesbrough.
The support will enable the team to attend the World Karate & Kickboxing Commission (WKC) championships, which this year will be held in Orlando, Florida.
Last year, thanks to Boro Taxis’ support, members of M.A-X Training Academy returned from the World Championships in Portugal with 15 medals.
Boro Taxis director Christine Bell said: “We were so proud of the team’s achievements at last year’s world championships that we wanted to make sure they had the chance to win even more medals this year.
“These youngsters are a credit to Teesside and deserve every opportunity to pursue their dreams. A lot of other young people should take inspiration from their commitment to training with the coaches at M.A-X. They put in the work to make sure they are the best that they can be.
“I’m sure they will achieve an impressive medal haul at this year’s event and continue to represent the region and the country with pride. Everyone at Boro Taxis will be watching their progress.”
Samantha Johnson, M.A-X Training Academy manager, said: “The support of Boro Taxis has been fantastic.
“Attending competitions abroad can be very expensive, but having their backing means that we don’t need to worry about fundraising and can concentrate on the training.”
