Middlesbrough-based Greenbank Waste Solutions has welcomed Michael Hayward to its ranks, with specific responsibility for the firm’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Mr Hayward has joined the firm as SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) and compliance manager, joining the firm from electrical contracting company Groestar.
Mr Hayward holds NEBOSH qualifications in occupational health and safety, construction health and safety as well as environmental management.
His appointment follows Greenbank’s 72 sqm office expansion at its Middlesbrough HQ, which houses a full production workshop.
The company has now extended its workforce by over 20% in the last eight months as Mr Hayward becomes the sixth employee to join Greenbank during its latest recruitment drive.
“I was thrilled to be offered the role at Greenbank, I was immediately struck by the passion and drive Greenbank showed to improve the business and protect its employees,” he said.
“I believe that bringing the SHEQ role into the business displays the commitment to providing a safety conscious work environment as well as to providing its customers with the highest levels of service.”
Greenbank managing director Robin Evershed added: “Health and safety has always been paramount throughout Greenbank, this is why we decided to appoint Michael for the new role within Greenbank.
“Michael brings an unsurpassed level of regulatory knowledge and experience to Greenbank.”
