A construction company is laying foundations for future growth by expanding into new warehousing space at Lingfield Point in Darlington.
The rapidly growing company has taken on a 5,000 sq ft warehouse as part of a substantial investment in the company.
Francis W Group is the latest firm to join Lingfield Point’s growing community – already home to a number of significant North-East businesses.
The move is part of an investment in its workforce and capabilities, allowing the company to provide a wider range of services to its clients.
Francis Ward, director of Francis W Group, said: “We’re expanding as there is a lot of construction work taking place in the region and we want to capitalise on it.
“We’ve recently purchased an asphalt and resurfacing company which included employing its staff and we needed a bigger space to accommodate our growing team.
“Lingfield Point offered exactly what we wanted. We’ve found a really great unit here – it’s spacious, has great access and the site is very secure with CCTV and automatic number plate recognition.
“The unit is spacious enough for both companies and our equipment and the site offers everything we could need – including a great canteen.”
The company has recently doubled its workforce and is about to take on four apprentices. The investment in apprentices and its commitment to staff training is part of the company’s response to a significant skills shortage in the sector.
Eddie Humphries, estate manager at Lingfield Point, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Francis W Group to Lingfield Point.
“It joins a growing number of regional, national and international firms choosing to join our business community.
“We’re seeing a healthy uptake across all sectors from construction to financial services. Our continuing success is due to the great location, flexible spaces and fantastic customer service.”
Francis W Group incorporates Francis W Construction and the newly-formed Francis W Groundworks.
