A Tees marketing agency is paying tribute to Voice of the Boro Alastair Brownlee as it produces the official running shirt and commemorative medal for a popular Middlesbrough fun run for a sixth successive year.
The Ali Brownlee Riverside Run’s commemorative T-shirt and medal has been designed and produced by Hartlepool-based marketing and branding agency, Emmerson Marketing.
Named in memory of former Boro commentator Alastair Brownlee, the 5k run takes in a route from Middlesbrough Football Club’s Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough College, the former home of the town’s founding fathers Henry Bolckow and John Vaughn, the iconic Transporter Bridge and back to the Riverside for a lap around the hallowed turf to the finish line.
Organised by Everyone Active, Middlesbrough Council’s flagship sports event attracts around 3,000 runners of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels.
Emmerson Marketing’s clients include Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough FC, Hodgson’s Fish, Extol Multi-Academy Trust, Amacus Innovative Training and charities MFC Foundation, Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice and Daisy Chain.
As specialists in designing and producing branded apparel as well as marketing services, they have produced a striking black with vibrant green print for this year’s event.
Director Matt Emmerson, who was formerly head of marketing at Middlesbrough FC, said: “As someone who knew Alastair Brownlee personally, it means a lot for us to again be supporting this event.
“We go out of our way to produce shirts that are stylish and functional, and I think this year’s designs are really striking, featuring a backdrop of the Riverside Stadium – the place that is perhaps most synonymous with Ali.”
Taking place on July 2, the Ali Brownlee Riverside Run in association with Cleveland Centre features both a 5k and 2k event. To sign up visit runbritain.com
