Experienced recruiter joins ambitious Darlington firm

A growing recruitment agency has strengthened its management team with the addition of a well-known industry professional.

Matthew Telling has joined Darlington-based Resource Management Solutions (North East) as the company’s new operations manager to help drive forward the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Award-winning RMS was formed by Carole Martin in 2000 who has grown the company from scratch to a team of 32 with 12 operations strategically based around the UK.

The business is now aiming to expand its services creating more jobs and also plans to open another North-East office within the next year.

Matthew said: “I’m very proud to be the new RMS operations manager. I’m excited and very happy to take this big challenge.

“RMS is a business with major ambition for growth, and that’s one of the big things that attracted me to the opportunity.

“I want to express my appreciation to Carole and the senior leadership team for putting their confidence in me.

“I’m positive that with everyone working together we will make RMS even more successful and build a truly special organisation.”

Matthew added: “I was ready for the next stage in development of my career. The level of opportunity available was hugely appealing, and I really bought into the ‘because people matter’ ethos of RMS.

“It’s a real team culture, and RMS has a strong ethical approach to business, which is refreshing. It was too great an opportunity to turn down.

“There’s an awful lot of growth potential within RMS, we’re already working with some really strong businesses – the likes of Mech-Tool Engineering, Jaguar LandRover, BCA – and it’s my job to help lead the UK development of RMS. The next few years will be challenging yet highly rewarding, I’m sure.”

Helping Carole Martin to run RMS are family members Leon Butt, finance director, and his wife Nikki, who is HR and performance manager.

Nikki said: “Matt has come on board to help us push forward with our expansion plans and future growth. He will also help us succession plan and further develop our existing team.

“He’ll be solely responsible for the Darlington operation, looking after all recruitment – permanent and temporary – and managing our team of consultants.

“We want to grow and expand our Darlington team and bring in more consultants within specialist disciplines and expand the services we offer to our clients across a wider North-East footprint, and Matthew’s appointment will help us do that.

“Matthew has so much experience and is very well known within the industry, and we’re really hopeful he’ll add a lot of strength to our management team and help us drive our growth plans forward.”

“These are exciting time for RMS.”
