SABIC sponsors first-ever Tees Businesswomen Awards

Chemical giant SABIC is the latest company to support the first-ever Teesside business awards for women by sponsoring one of the categories.

Tees Business will host the Tees Businesswomen Awards at a glitzy ceremony in Wynyard Hall’s Conservatory Room on November 8 this year.

SABIC, whose UK headquarters are based at Wilton, near Redcar, is sponsoring the ‘Inspiring Others’ category for the historic event, following the likes of Teesside University (Businesswoman of the Year), Cornerstone Business Solutions (Business of the Year), RMS Recruitment (Best Newcomer) and Punch Robson Solicitors (SME of the Year), while two other well-known Tees names have also sponsored the Training & Apprenticeships and Charity/Voluntary categories.

Nicola Duffey, senior manager HR at SABIC – pictured above (left) with the firm’s communications manager Claire Wordsworth – said: “We’re proud and delighted to be supporting the very first business awards event for women in the Tees region.

“Within SABIC we want to create more role models, so young women see it as a place where they want to work, that they see they myriad of career opportunities, no matter what your gender.

“We’re tying in with the Tees Businesswomen Awards to create more role models for women who are pursuing a career in industry.”

The Tees Businesswomen Awards will celebrate women in business on Teesside, inspiring a new generation of females to succeed in business, creating more female entrepreneurs and business leaders than ever before.

Tees Business co-editor Dave Allan added: “It’s fantastic to see the Tees business community embracing this ground-breaking event for our region.

“To have heavyweight names such as SABIC and Teesside University – as well as Cornerstone, Punch Robson and RMS Recruitment – involved from the start is a huge boost and will enable us to put on what will hopefully be a memorable night for us all to savour.”

Ten awards will be dished out at the first Tees Businesswomen Awards ceremony on November 8, including Businesswoman of the Year, Lifelong Inspiration Award, Breaking the Mould Award, Inspiring Others Award, Best Newcomer and SME of the Year.

Only three category sponsorship opportunities are now remaining – Lifelong Inspiration, Breaking the Mould and Best Scheme awards – for other organisations keen to show their support for successful businesswomen in the Tees region.

Category Sponsorships, costing just £1,500 (+ VAT), include:
• Table of 10 (worth £625.00 + VAT)
• Event Branding (backdrop, programme, audio)
• Present category award including short speech
• Advance Publicity (Tees Business magazine, online editorial and social media)
• Post-Event Publicity (full page shared with winners in Tees Business magazine awards supplement online & social media)
