Venator the latest firm to back first-ever Tees Businesswomen Awards

Tees firm Venator is the latest company to support the first-ever Tees Businesswomen Awards.

Tees Business will host the Tees Businesswomen Awards at a ceremony in Wynyard Hall’s Conservatory Room on November 8 this year.

And Venator, the experts in pigments and additives which has its global HQ at Wynyard Park with sites at Greatham and Birtley, is sponsoring the Charity/Voluntary category for the inaugural event.

Venator follows Teesside University (Businesswoman of the Year), Cornerstone Business Solutions (Business of the Year), RMS Recruitment (Best Newcomer), Punch Robson Solicitors (SME of the Year) and SABIC (Inspiring Others) who have so far backed the awards.

Kevin Wilson, VP Human Resources at Venator, said: “We view these awards as being vitally important. One of the challenges most industries in the region face is attracting more females into senior roles and showing people that these opportunities do exist.

“To showcase some of the existing talent in our region through these awards is a fantastic opportunity to address this challenge.

“The Tees Businesswomen Awards is a much-needed initiative to recognise the role female business leaders take across the region, and we’re more than happy to support it as a company.”

The Tees Businesswomen Awards will celebrate women in business on Teesside, inspiring a new generation of females to succeed in business, creating more female entrepreneurs and business leaders than ever before.

Tees Business co-editor Martin Walker – pictured above, left, with Kevin Wilson – added: “We’re yet again delighted that our first-ever Tees Businesswomen Awards has attracted such a major Tees employer as Venator – the only New York Stock Exchange listed business in the region – and we thank them for their support.

“With only two award categories remaining available for sponsorship, it has proved that our idea is not only filling a niche gap in the awards market, but is hitting the right notes with lots of employers, of all sizes, across the region.”

Ten awards will be dished out at the first Tees Businesswomen Awards ceremony on November 8, including Businesswoman of the Year, Company of the Year, Lifelong Inspiration Award, Breaking the Mould Award, Inspiring Others Award, Best Newcomer and SME of the Year.

Only two category sponsorship opportunities are now remaining – Breaking the Mould and Best Scheme awards – for other organisations keen to show their support for successful businesswomen in the Tees region.

Category Sponsorships, costing just £1,500 (+ VAT), include:
• Table of 10 (worth £625.00 + VAT)
• Event Branding (backdrop, programme, audio)
• Present category award including short speech
• Advance Publicity (Tees Business magazine, online editorial and social media)
• Post-Event Publicity (full page shared with winners in Tees Business magazine awards supplement online & social media)
