Iconic Tees fashion house Psyche has added to its list of successes after being named the Menswear Independent of the Year at the 2018 Drapers’ Awards.
Psyche – headed up by Steve Cochrane MBE (pictured above) – described the win from the internationally recognised organisation as “a huge achievement for Psyche and the North.”
The Draper’s Awards recognise the UK’s leading titans in fashion during an annual celebration hosted in London.
This year the most influential brands and highly respected independent retailers gathered for the celebrations.
Psyche has won the Menswear Independent of the Year category for their Middlesbrough store situated on Linthorpe Road.
The 40,000 sq ft luxury fashion boutique hosts more than 200 of the most sought-after influential brands for men, women and children.
The Teesside business is constantly innovating within the store and online with the launch of international websites, a new website design and exciting new prospects that are yet to be announced.
The Middlesbrough store was not the only Psyche outlet to be recognised for their excellence as the brand-new Psyche Durham store received a nomination.
Psyche Durham, which opened in April 2018. was shortlisted as a finalist for the Best Store Design. The design of the store brings sculptural elegance and Shoreditch style to the North-East. It is home to fashion powerhouse brands including Hugo Boss and Armani but also emerging contemporary designers such as APC and Ami.
Over a 36-year history Psyche has been recognised with a multitude of recognitions including FHM Magazine’s Retailer of the Year, GQ Magazine’s Best Menswear Shop and runner up to Harrods in Department Store of the Year.
