A Teesside hotel currently under construction has made a second key appointment.

Just a month after revealing John Lambourne-Richardson as general manager of the new Hampton by Hilton hotel in Stockton, Lorna Hobson has been appointed as sales manager.

Originally from Yarm, Lorna brings a wealth of experience from working at independent hotels and a large events firm.

“I have been working in the North West in a similar role but when this opportunity arose I couldn’t wait to return to Stockton,” said Lorna, who has relocated to Hartburn with her family.

“It’s brilliant to be part of the established Hilton brand and I am really impressed with the regeneration of Stockton town centre and all the exciting events on offer across the area.”

Councillor Nigel Cooke, the council’s cabinet member for regeneration and housing, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Lorna – her previous experience and hands-on approach will be key in developing positive relationships with local businesses and the community.

“We can’t wait to utilise her skills in attracting and providing a warm welcome to both leisure and corporate visitors.”

The 56-acre, £300m scheme is a partnership between Muse Developments, the Homes and Communities Agency and Stockton Council and forms part of the mixed-use Northshore regeneration scheme, incorporating new offices, homes and leisure facilities near the town centre.
