A growing Tees firm which specialises in security systems for homes and businesses is celebrating growth as it nears its 40th anniversary.
Cleveland Security, based at Thornton House on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough, was first formed in 1980.
It was bought out by current director Christine Baker and her late husband Steve in 1998 after originally starting out on Ayresome Street in the town.
Mike Bringloe joined the firm as director following Steve’s death in 2003 and Cleveland Security has since built on its solid foundations to amass a strong and loyal customer base.
The firm, which has been at its current Cargo Fleet premises for five years, has grown year-on-year and two new recentlyappointed apprentice engineers have taken staff head count to 11, which includes four senior engineers and office staff.
The business now serves more than 5,000 clients across the North-East, from Berwick down to York, and boasts an impressive corporate client list including Ramsdens, Cleveland Centre, Hill Street Centre, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar and Cleveland councils.
It also supplies its systems to Story Homes through a sub-contract with electrical contractors Dualbound, with 60% of business coming from the commercial sector.
Cleveland Security, which is NSI-Gold approved and police-approved, also installs and maintains state-of-the-art security and CCTV footage to hundreds of domestic customers every year.
“We’re a local company with local staff and people trust in our name, which is something we’re very proud of,” said Christine.
“We offer a personal service, we operate a very central operation so all the office staff know our customers.
“We have customers who’ve been with us for more than 20 years. They trust the lads – they’re all presentable with smart uniforms – and some customers ask us specifically for certain engineers to call out because they’ve got to know them personally.
“We’d like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years.”
Cleveland Security has established its reputable name by supplying professional, reliable security systems, including intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
“All our staff are fully security checked and we are NACOSS gold members,” added codirector Mike.
“Which means our customers can relax in the knowledge that our affordable and highquality solutions are keeping them secure for years to come.
“Our best advertising is our referral work and repeat business, a record which speaks for itself and is a huge testament to the quality of our work.”
Cleveland Security offers a range of intruder alarm systems that are suitable for domestic, industrial and commercial premises.
The firm stocks the latest technology in cameras and digital recording, providing images of the highest quality.
They can also install high-performance intercom and keypad/fob access control for stand alone or networked systems, which can be designed to suit individual requirements.
