The region’s top entrepreneurs and leading business brains will gather to network and share ideas at a special event this month.
The first Invest Middlesbrough Breakfast Exchange of 2019 takes place in Middlesbrough’s newly-refurbished Town Hall on Thursday, January 17.
Following the biggest makeover in its 129-year life, the historic building is the perfect venue for an event with an eye firmly on the future.
The free networking session provides businesses with an opportunity to meet up on a less formal basis, chat and share, learn more about Middlesbrough’s ambitious regeneration plans and do business.
The Breakfast Exchange gets under way at 7.30am, with the spotlight at January’s event on the newly-launched Albert North project.
A key city centre thoroughfare, Albert Road links Middlesbrough railway station with Centre Square and Teesside University.
This vital commercial district is being re-energised and reimagined into a vibrant new business community now known as Albert North.
A partnership between Jomast and Middlesbrough Council, Albert North has seen both parties commit to a shared vision and multi-million-pound investment to transform the north end of Albert Road.
Following the Breakfast Exchange there will also a chance to meet Middlesbrough Council’s Procurement Team who will be hosting a ‘How to do business with Middlesbrough Council’ event.
It’s an opportunity for local business to get an insight into how best to engage with the council and hear about upcoming contract opportunities.
A presentation will be followed by informal networking and a chance for one-to-one discussions with key contractors, support agencies and the procurement team.
Councillor Lewis Young, Middlesbrough Council’s executive member for economic development and infrastructure, said: “A vibrant, thriving city centre economy is crucial to Middlesbrough’s future success and growth.
“That’s why the Breakfast Exchanges have become so popular as an informal forum in which find out what’s happening across Middlesbrough, share ideas and forge new partnerships.
“This month’s event will be packed with lots of information relevant to the local business community, so I hope as many businesses as possible will come along, find out more and take the opportunity to network with counterparts from across Middlesbrough and beyond.”
