A fast-growing security firm has promised more “major contracts” after announcing deals with leading Tees brands, Scott Bros and Psyche.

Having recently extended its partnership with Durham Tees Valley Airport (DTVA), Close Protection Security is continuing what its directors describe as “a period of rapid expansion”.

The firm, whose 47 staff operate out of the airport’s grounds, has agreed a long-term, six-figure deal to provide security services for sites in Haverton Hill, Stockton, and Grangetown, near Redcar, for Scott Bros, specialists in haulage, plant hire and recycling contract services.

Close Protection Security, which is run by directors Glenn Bartlett, Chris Petty and James Wilcock, will provide manned security, monitoring of CCTV, mobile patrols and rapid response for Scott Bros’ five Teesside sites.

The firm is also now acting as security partner for Psyche, the high-profile clothing retailer with stores in Middlesbrough and Durham.

Peter Scott, director of Scott Bros, said: “We’re delighted to have signed up Close Protection Security to ensure our Teesside sites and buildings remain safe and secure.

“It is reassuring to know that our staff, equipment and premises are being watched over at all times by a local company with a first class reputation.”

Managing director Bartlett said the backing of such significant names was proof of the firm’s reputation as “a security firm with the highest standards of professionalism, reliability and confidentiality”.

“We’re delighted that the region’s biggest names are putting their trust in us,” he said.

“We’re close to being able to make further significant announcements too, so these are exciting times for us.”

Fellow director Petty added: “While all of our staff are trained to the highest standards, a number – including several who are ex-military – have been trained in close protection and are leading experts in the security field.

“At the same time we’re doing something different. The security industry has a poor reputation.

“We’re utilising technological advances within the industry. Our staff carry mobile phones, providing our clients with a web portal that allows them to confirm where security staff are positioned at any time.”

Close Protection Security also now provide patrols around the land-side of the airport, along with an established security detail for the St George Hotel on the airport site and services to high-profile clients using the airport.
