Aircon Group has acquired North Yorkshire-based refrigeration specialist Allied Refrigeration.

Aircon Group, grown from Aircon Refrigeration, expanded to 8,000 sq ft premises on Teesside Industrial Estate in Thornaby earlier this year after a five-year spell at Riverside Park in Middlesbrough.

The company, which also has a branch in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, said it aimed to grow annual sales from just over £5m to £8-9m over the next two-to-three years.

Founded in 1984, Allied Refrigeration provides commercial refrigeration and air conditioning services across North Yorkshire and Teesside, with a specialist focus on the agricultural and hospitality industries.

Aircon managing director Steve Farrell – pictured above (left) with business manager James Farrell – said: “We’re delighted to welcome Allied Refrigeration to the Aircon Group family.

“The move will broaden the range of services we are able to provide to our customers as well as give us access to new industries and markets.

“It’s an exciting time for Aircon Group and we’re looking forward to growing the company even further next year.”

Aircon Group, which originally started out in Thornaby in 1963, is already well established in the field and employs 50 people across its two branches and services more than 900 customers up and down the country, with around half of those in the Tees Valley area.
