250+ businesses to celebrate launch of new venture to promote Tees Valley

More than 250 businesses will join Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen to celebrate a new publication which will promote the Tees region across the UK.

A business panel Q&A session will take place during the launch of This Is Tees Valley at Teesside International Airport, which is being sponsored by Tees law firm Endeavour Partnership, with panellists including (above, left to right):

This Is Tees Valley is a new free annual publication which will be circulated to businesses and potential investors around the country, and has been produced by Middlesbrough-based company Resolution Media and Publishing.

Resolution directors Dave Allan and Martin Walker – both former colleagues in Middlesbrough Football Club’s media team – launched the publication after the success of their Tees-based magazines.

The high-quality, 84-page This Is Tees Valley, with an initial print run of 10,000, is designed to promote the businesses, investment opportunities, people, lifestyle and living spaces available in the Tees Valley region.

Several high-profile businesses and organisations have supported the inaugural publication, including the Tees Valley Combined Authority, PD Ports, Cleveland Cable Company and AV Dawson.

And the magazine will be officially launched at Teesside Airport on Thursday February 27 (12-2pm), with more than 250 businesspeople expected to attend.

Dave said: “We’re proud Teessiders, so it goes without saying we’re incredibly pleased to bring this brand new annual publication to the market, which will promote our region to all quarters of the UK.

“We know the Tees Valley is a special place – the people, our businesses, the scenery – and we’ve long felt the image of the region has been stained over the years by negative national publicity.

“The Tees Valley Combined Authority do a fantastic job in promoting what we have to offer, telling the world about the investment opportunities here.

“We wanted to complement their work by putting together what is essentially a marketing document for the Tees Valley, but delving into more detail with features on some of our great companies.

“We’re delighted with the end product and we’re confident it will serve as an effective marketing tool for our great region.”

Tees mayor Houchen added: “The Tees Valley has so much to offer – from the biggest investment opportunity in the UK at the South Tees Development Corporation, the only mayoral development corporation outside of London, to expertise in the critical sectors of tomorrow including biologics, precision engineering and materials and chemical processing.

“We’re a great place to invest, work and live, with people and industry getting more for their money in a region that’s on the up.

“We have to be unashamedly positive about our fantastic assets and opportunities and we have to pitch this to a wider world.

“If we don’t bang the drum for our region no one else will.

“With the launch of This Is Tees Valley, we have a great chance to come together to get our voices heard across the UK and shout about the game-changing projects happening here.

“From offshore wind to hydrogen, digital to biologics, we’re leading the way.

“This publication will show off our great companies, organisations and institutions, getting them in front of some of the country’s biggest investors, business leaders and decision-makers.

“I look forward to seeing this magazine go from strength to strength.”

Resolution was formed after the successful launch of the Tees Business magazine in 2015. The firm then launched Tees Life, the Tees region’s only lifestyle magazine, in 2017.

Resolution – who took their name from the ship sailed by world-famous explorer and fellow Teeessider Captain Cook – employs four full-time staff as well as a network of freelance designers, writers and photographers, and print and distribution companies.
