Stockton-based law firm Jacksons is hosting an online afternoon tea event to raise funds and awareness for Tees charity High Tide Foundation.

The event, which takes place on Zoom on Friday July 31, will include afternoon tea provided by local catering company, M Brown Catering.

Guests will enjoy a game of bingo and could win raffle prizes which have been kindly donated by PD Ports, Casper Shipping, Better Agency and Rockcliffe Hall.

Rountons Coffee founder and owner, David Beattie, and engineer by day, author by night Fiona Erskine will be giving talks about their successful careers during the event.

High Tide Foundation is an independent charitable Foundation, funded by businesses in the Tees region.

They deliver meaningful career experiences to young people between the ages of 11-19 through real life work experience programmes and new online careers hubs.

Jacksons Law Firm have been a corporate partner of High Tide Foundation since 2019.

Jacksons managing partner Jane Armitage said: “It has always been a pleasure working with High Tide Foundation and their ethos and culture sits very well with ours at Jacksons.

“We are passionate about supporting young students with their career choices and have been doing this for a number of years.

“There isn’t a week that goes by at Jacksons when we don’t have school children in our office on work experience programmes, including students from High Tide Foundation.

“It’s exciting to be organising an afternoon tea event during lockdown. Thank goodness for technology, anything is possible these days!”

Mark Easby, chairman at High Tide Foundation, added: “It is fantastic to see the support from businesses around the region including that of Jacksons and our other corporate members.

“Charities have been hit hard during the last few years and the current situation with Covid-19 has made the situation worse for the sector.

“We appreciate the effort that goes into organising an afternoon tea event like this and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone, virtually on the day.”
