It’s no wonder LevelQ has been dubbed Teesside’s best office space – but there’s still an opportunity for ambitious companies to join the range of innovative firms already located there.
While many office owners have struggled since lockdown, LevelQ has gone from strength to strength, with ambitious new business tenants moving in and thriving existing clients taking more space.
Gareth Cherry, one half of LevelQ creators Preston Cherry, believes it’s LevelQ’s unique working environment that’s allowing businesses to flourish even in challenging times.
“LevelQ is unique in both design and environment,” says Gareth.
“We’ve created a vibrant working atmosphere that encourages tenants to mingle and communicate with one another in relaxed common spaces.”
Those spaces include a communal, open-plan café on the ground floor that creates a sense of community for tenants ranging from recruitment firms to accountants, tech companies to international cabling business Batt Cables.
On the first floor, offices surround a central social zone known as The Village Green, featuring picnic-style benches and artificial grass similar to material fitted in Google’s Californian headquarters.
LevelQ’s five-star facilities also feature a small but impressive cinema, gym room, boardroom with state-of-the-art conferencing facilities, a concierge service and super-fast internet.
LevelQ’s newest tenants are the four-strong team of tech firm Intasite, recent winners of the Tech Partnership category in the inaugural Tees Tech Awards.
Director Danielle Croce says it was an easy decision for Intasite to make LevelQ their new home.
“We are a forward-thinking tech company, so we wanted a place which was leading on innovation and delivered that impression as soon as a client walked in the door,” says Danielle. “LevelQ gave us that.
“We were looking for a modern workspace with good transport links and ample parking for staff and visiting clients.
“Since moving in, we’ve loved the community vibe that the building brings – added extras such as breakout areas, the gym and an inviting reception for clients all added to our decision to move in.”
Along with traditional longer-term leases, various levels of membership are available within the two-year-old premises, from hot desks to the very best service, known as LevelQ.
Accountants AbacusBean were first to move into LevelQ when the offices opened in 2018. They recently expanded further, having grown from a one-woman band to a professional team of eight.
Bev Goodall, managing director of a firm crowned Best Small Business at last year’s Tees Businesswomen Awards, says the office space has been perfect for a fast-growing business like hers.
“LevelQ was my first choice for office space when looking to start up,” reveals Bev. “It’s fresh, modern and funky with free parking, great views – and the free gym and cinema room are added bonuses for staff.
“Since moving in we’ve made some great connections and picked up some fantastic clients. Everyone looks out for each other and we’ve had referrals from other businesses in the building.
“We’ve recently moved up to an office twice the size on the top floor. LevelQ were really helpful in getting all the IT checked over for us to move quickly and seamlessly.”
With office space for one to 15-strong people, starting at just £70 per week, Gareth Cherry believes there are many more who could benefit from LevelQ’s easy in, easy out terms.
“We have an eclectic mix of tenants with different needs and requirement,” he says. “We’re always keen to help tenants meet their growing needs.
“Work practices are changing, so serviced offices could well be the way of the future rather than big office spaces on punitive lease terms.
“There’s nothing like LevelQ anywhere else on Teesside. It represents a new generation of workspace and our tenants love it.”
