The star guest at the 2020 Tees Businesswomen Awards is urging businesses and individuals to get their entries in for the annual competition.
Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies MBE will be the ‘keynote speaker’ for the third Tees Businesswomen Awards event, organised by Tees Business in association with Northern Skills Group, which will be held virtually on the evening of Thursday January 14, 2021.
The entry deadline for the 10 categories is 5pm on Friday (November 27) – so there’s still enough time to enter yourself, or enter someone you know.
As with the Tees Tech Awards held in August, the category sponsors for the Tees Businesswomen Awards will each vote on five separate categories, with the overall total scores dictating the winners on the night.
Sara is the founder and creative director at Newton Aycliffe-based global craft phenomenon Crafter’s Companion, which she founded in her bedroom while studying business at York University.
She shot to fame in 2019 when she joined the BBC hit TV show Dragons’ Den, and Crafter’s – which now turns over more £30m a year – celebrated its 15th birthday earlier this year.
Sara told Tees Business: “I was honoured to be asked to speak at the upcoming Tees Businesswomen Awards.
“I’m beyond excited to open this dynamic event and most importantly, share the phenomenal success stories of some of the incredible women in our region.
“The Tees Businesswomen Awards is only in its third year but has already become a prominent event.
“It’s an evening of celebrating the women who are breaking the mould, who are inspiring people with outstanding leadership, and paving the way with innovative businesses.
“Whether you’re a business owner, working within in a company or a charity or you’re just starting out in your career, the Tees Businesswomen Awards has lots of different ways to shout about the fantastic work that’s being done in your organisation or to champion a brilliant individual who deserves to be recognised.
“The great news is that there’s still time to enter the awards, so if you haven’t already, apply now!”
