The popularity of Wynyard as a place to live has been highlighted by the fact that 80 per cent of buyers at a new housing development in the village are already local residents.

Almost half of the 138 new homes being built by Bellway at Regency Manor, off Wynyard Woods, have now been reserved or occupied, with eight out of ten of these customers previously living locally.

Bellway is providing a range of four and five-bedroom homes at the development which is being built on land formerly owned by Wynyard Hall – the 19th century stately home now an award-winning hotel and spa just half a mile away.

There’s currently a choice of new homes available to reserve at Regency Manor, with prices starting from £356,995. Construction on site is progressing well and is due to come to an end in 2023.

Sales Manager for Bellway Durham, Oliver Wray, said: “The majority of homes sold at Regency Manor so far have been bought by local people who want to stay nearby.

“Buyers are keen to stay in an area which has excellent local amenities. Regency Manor offers the peacefulness of a rural setting, whilst also being close enough to local services in Wynyard village centre, only a five-minute walk away.

“There’s easy access to the A689, A19 and A1, while Billingham train station is less than 15 minutes’ drive away, making this an appealing location for professionals commuting to Stockton, Hartlepool or Middlesbrough.

“There’s also a choice of well-regarded local schools nearby, with Wynyard Church of England Primary School only a short walk from the development.

“With nearly half of the homes now sold, I’d encourage anyone hoping to make their home at Regency Manor to get in touch.”
