Ahead of Thursday’s entry deadline, one of the companies backing this year’s event has said the Tees Tech Awards are the perfect way to support the local digital community and a crucial platform to encourage the growth of the tech sector as a whole.
Azets, the international accounts and business advisory service, are sponsors of the Digital Transformation category for the second year.
“Teesside as a whole, and especially the tech sector, tend to hide their lights under a bushel and we see the awards as a great way to shine a light on the wealth of talent here,” said Andrew Rowe, partner at Azets’ Wynyard-based Teesside branch (pictured above, left, with Tees Business co-editor Martin Walker).
“We sponsored the Digital Transformation award last year, so we do feel a special bond with the awards.”
The second Tees Tech Awards – organised by Tees Business in association with DigitalCity and Middlesbrough Digital – will be held this summer.
Although the inaugural 2020 event was forced to go online last year due to the pandemic, organisers are looking forward to hosting a glitzy awards ceremony in July for this year’s event – thought to be one of the first post-Covid events of its type in the North-East region.
The tech awards were created to shine a light on the Tees region’s thriving digital and tech sector.
Andrew added: “We are particularly proud of what is happening in the Boho and Albert North areas of Middlesbrough and it’s really important for Azets as a company to be involved and encourage further growth.
“As advisors digital is our sweet spot and we can see how crucial it is, not only to us as a company, but to our clients, in business ranging from manual to hi tech.
“We want our clients to do well and we are looking to help entrepreneurs lead the way forward.”
There are three category sponsorship packages available – they’re for the Best Digital Project/Campaign, Digital Newcomer of the Year and Tees Tech Unsung Hero award.
