A director of Tees Tech Awards category sponsors Teesside University has praised the “ingenuity” of the local digital sector in achieving a “local and global reach”.
Tees Business will host the second annual Tees Tech Awards, in association with DigitalCity and Middlesbrough Digital, at Hardwick Hall on July 1.
Teesside University is sponsoring the Best Digital Project/Campaign, with Appamondo, Salesfire and In Studio finalists in a prestigious new category.
Laura Woods, the university’s director of academic enterprise, said: “The last 12 months have really brought home to us all just how vital digital technologies have become in our daily lives, so it feels doubly important to be celebrating the achievements of the Tees Valley’s brightest and best tech businesses at the Tees Tech Awards,”
The university have long been supporters of the region’s burgeoning digital sector.
Laura reflected: “From our talented graduates bringing their tech skills and creativity into the workforce, the exciting new digital companies that we continue to launch from the campus and the work of DigitalCity in helping the sector to grow and scale, we’re very proud of the strong links that our School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies has with tech businesses.
“They help to grow the talent pool for the sector and build research and development partnerships.”
Looking forward to the event, Laura added: “We’re delighted to be a part of this success and excited to be sponsors of the best digital project/campaign category.
“The vitality and ingenuity of our tech sector is phenomenal – so many great businesses with an increasingly national and global reach. It’s a wonderful ambassador for the region.
“For the Tees Valley to make the most of its fantastic new economic opportunities, a strong tech sector is absolutely key – and what better way to champion it and recognise its achievements than with the Tees Tech Awards.”
