Redcar hotel plans unveiled

Plans for a new 42-bedroom Redcar hotel have gone out to public consultation.

The £6.5m development has been proposed for the Coatham area of the town, close to the seafront, subject to planning approval.

North-East chain the Inn Collection Group will develop the new building and family restaurant if permission is granted.

Now Redcar and Cleveland Council have put the proposals out to a public consultation to find out what people think of the development.

It will have rooms over four floors, including two allocated for manager’s accommodation, a family restaurant and outdoor eating terrace as well as a car park, service space and site landscaping.

The hotel is forecast to create 50 full-time jobs, while 60 jobs are also expected to be created during the construction stage.

The Inn Collection Group also owns the Kings Head in Newton-under-Roseberry and The Stables in Whitby.
