A new Hartlepool payroll bureau has been launched under the management of experienced payroll experts.

McBrides Payroll Bureau Services will be run by Tracey Courtley and Lauren Gleaves, who have worked together for the past 17 years and will focus on growing the new business across the North-East.

Backed by South-East-based firm McBrides Chartered Accountants, the business is launching on the back of the confidence gained during the pandemic that remote working “really can work”.

“Lauren and I are so excited to have this opportunity to work directly with McBrides’ clients and we’re confident that our collective 48 years’ payroll experience will provide the credentials needed to also help businesses in Hartlepool and across the North-East,” said Tracey.

“We’re able to handle payroll for directors all the way up to businesses with hundreds of employees.

“We’ll be focused on providing a secure, efficient, cost-effective and friendly service to business owners who are keen to remove the payroll admin burden so that they can focus on delivering their product or service to their customers and clients.

“And we’re looking forward to growing the business and delivering what we believe is a fantastic payroll service.”

McBrides Chartered Accountants, based in Sidcup in Kent, has a 48-year history of advising owner-managed and SME businesses.

The firm’s managing partner Nick Paterno says: “This is a really exciting development for McBrides. Lockdown showed how it’s possible to work from anywhere at any time if you have the right technology.

“Based on our excellent experience of working with Tracey and Lauren previously, it felt like the right time for us to bring our payroll service back in-house and grow a new McBrides branded business that will appeal to clients who aren’t necessarily looking for a change of accountant but want to outsource their payroll process.

“I’m delighted to welcome Tracey and Lauren onboard and look forward to working with them in our new venture.”
