Tees Tech Awards 2021

The region’s thriving digital sector will be celebrated when the Tees Tech Awards are held online on July 1, 2021, in association with DigitalCity and Middlesbrough Digital.

The Tees Tech Awards recognise and celebrate the organisations and individuals thriving within the Tees region’s fast-growing digital sector together with the local companies driving their business through digital transformation.

  • There is no charge for entries/nominations for the Tees Tech Awards.
  • Any company (or individuals from that company) can be nominated/entered for a maximum of three categories (eg. A company may be entered into 3 categories or 2 categories plus an employee nominated for a category; or an individual nominated for 3 categories but therefore the company cannot be entered into any categories).
  • Deadline for entries to the inaugural Tees Tech Awards is 5pm on April 29, 2021.
  • The three-strong shortlist in each category will be decided by the category sponsor, with the category winners decided by scoring from a panel comprising representatives of the category sponsor and four other category sponsors. The judges’ decision is final.
  • A shortlist of three in each category will be announced on May 10.
  • Please note that the Tees Tech Awards 2021 will take place on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
  • All entrants or nominations must be based in the Tees Valley or Teesside (including Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool, Wynyard, Redcar & Cleveland, East Cleveland, Stokesley and Darlington)
  • To help you decide which categories are best for you to enter your company or nominate someone you know, please take a look at the questions by clicking on the blue box below and selecting the different options within the dropdown menu.
  • When submitting an entry or nomination, we recommend that you initially write your answers in a Word document then copy and paste each one individually onto the form, as the form will not save if only partly completed.

This category will recognise the Tees Valley’s outstanding digital company, especially since the start of 2021. We are looking for an organisation that has excelled in digital – that has an incredible story to tell – of ambition, innovation, progress and success – with the facts and figures to back it up. All digitally-influenced Tees Valley companies can enter this category.

This category will recognise the Tees Valley’s most impressive small digital business since the start of 2021.
We are looking for a small digital organisation that is showing signs that it has the ambition and talent to become a beacon for the digital sector across the region and beyond.
Please note: This category is only open to Tees Valley firms with no more than 10 staff.

This award will recognise an outstanding project or campaign by a Tees-based digital business – a project or campaign that stands out for more reasons than one. Perhaps it is the size of the project, the prestige of the client(s), the project or campaign’s international reach or the impact it has had. We are looking or a project or campaign that did the Tees region proud. The project/campaign must have been delivered since the start of 2021.

The winner of this award will have excelled with its innovation – in terms of ideas, products, services and successes. Open to organisations launched since January 1 2018, this category is for digital start-ups that have enjoyed success, displayed innovation and created a buzz within their first three years. You’re a potential star of the future – and we want to hear your story!

We all know technology can drive commercial success – but it can also be a driving force for good. Whether it’s an innovation or product that’s helping to change the world for the better or supporting a charity, this is an opportunity to shout about how the digital sector can truly change the world for the better.
